The improbable happened again as Serena squandered a dominating lead against Victoria Azarenka to lose a semifinal match 1-6, 6-3, 6-3. Perhaps the injury to her left Achilles’ tendon early in the third set may have caused Serena’s eventual downfall. However, there has been a pattern of mentally questionable losses since she returned in 2018 several months after giving birth to her daughter, Olympia.
Serena needs A 24th title to tie Margaret Court’s Grand Slam singles record to be regarded as the best player of all time. In my book, she is the GOAT, male or female; however, those close losses may ultimately diminish her legacy as the fiercest Tennis Competitor of all time!
Tennis Competitors readers, what do you think can help Serena to win another Major?
